A Lineside look

A COAL YARD
John Emerson presents more from his 'Lineside look' notebook
Lineside industries are important for your layout. Here is an idea for a rail-connected coal yard, suitable for use from steam days right up to the end of wagon load services, easily built with available prorietary items. Only one siding is shown, but more can be added and are usually in pairs with road access for carts or lorries on either side. The lead into the yard from the loop is protected by a trap point. The gas compound and security fencing are modern additions.
